We are Ram Broekaert & Karolien De Bosscher, passionate about design, nature and science. We design our urns following an intuitive process, seeking purity and authenticity. Our collection has grown incrementally from a love of minimalism and matter, characterized by textures and imperfection. It is important to us that our loved ones can be cherished in a serene & stylish way. Because beauty offers comfort.
Artemis creates stylish, carefully handcrafted ceramic urns designed to preserve the unforgettable memories of a beloved deceased in beauty at home (or elsewhere). We find it essential to design urns so that bereaved families are not constantly reminded of their loved one's death but know that he or she is with them.
The indirect reason for starting Artemis in 2020, was the death of Karolien's mom (10 years earlier) and the subsequent search to a beautiful, stylish urn for storing her ashes at home.
Each urn is made with care and attention from carefully selected, natural materials, finished in special colors & unique glazes. It is a making process that takes several weeks. All urns are handcrafted by small-scale ceramic workshops in Belgium & Portugal.
The small imperfections or deviations in shape, color and size, inherent in the craft process, give each piece authenticity and a unique charm. Each urn by Artemis is unique, each piece has its individuality, created to preserve the special memories of a dear loved one.
With Artemis, we hope to offer bereaved families a subtle & timeless (interior) object with which they can cherish their deceased loved ones in peace & serenity.

They are all passionate craftsmen, who conceive, design and handcraft the urns with us.

Organic & artisanal
Each piece is unique, no two are alike. Each urn is carefully handmade from a block of raw clay. Casting, turning, firing and glazing, all steps are done by hand. The entire making process - from clay to finished urn - takes several weeks. This craftsmanship results in the impeccable quality for which Artemis stands.
We consciously choose not to make uniform objects, but special, unique urns, in which we welcome variations in shape and glaze as happy coincidences. Organic, artisanal, by hand, to the rhythm of nature, captivating, sometimes surprising. A bit like life itself.

Our collection stands for simple shapes and timeless designs. We create personal objects, stylish keepsakes in soft colors & unique glazes, that fit any interior, from contemporary to classic. All urns are designed & manufactured exclusively by Artemis.
Durable objects
Made to last
Clay, the basis of our ceramics, is a natural, widely available and renewable local raw material. All urns are produced on a small scale and energy-efficiently. Once fired, the (glazed) ceramic urns are especially strong and weather-resistant, giving them a long life.
We also use as many reusable materials as possible for packaging and shipping the urns. In this way, Artemis tries to minimize the impact on our living environment.
