Losing a loved one is a profound event with all its consequences. Support from outside is important for coping. Condole arose from the need to be there for each other in the period of loss.
The goal of Condole is to ensure that no one in grief has to feel alone or lonely by keeping the memories of our loved ones alive and being there for each other in the moments that matter.
Memories are there always and forever. In times of loss, however, they are only extra valuable. Condole offers bereaved families and their loved ones the space for compassion, remembrance and comfort.
Yvette was 15 when she lost her mother
The founder of the Condole app, Yvette den Hartog, was 15 years old when she first experienced a death. It was her mother who, in the Christmas vacations of 2002, died unexpectedly.
Her loss led Yvette to explore at an early age the wants and needs of bereaved families and the possibility of being able to do something for them, which led to the creation of Condole in 2020.
Condole fulfills the need to support anyone who is missing someone. Especially in the first year after death. Just after death, on special days, but also just on that one day when a loved one really likes to know that other people miss him or her too. That love, connection and care for each other is important and necessary to be able to give the loss of a loved one a place.

Condole helps you be there on the days that are important to the family of the deceased. You can let the bereaved know in a simple way that you are thinking of them.
The app also gives you suggestions for what you can do on such a day: send a message, offer support, or post a card. A small gesture at the right time can provide comfort and strength.
