Personalizing an urn with an engraving
You can personalize an urn with an engraving. All urns in our collection can be engraved. Depending on the urn you choose, an engraving can be placed on top of the urn (in the lid), at the bottom of the urn, or in both places. The name, a date, a small symbol, but also a personal text is possible, in various styles and fonts.
The technique
Engraving is the application of (indelible) figures and letters with a laser device in hard materials such as ceramics.
An urn with personal text
To make your urn even more personal, Artemis offers the option of laser engraving on the bottom (all urns) or in the lid (note: this is only possible with engobe urns). Please allow for an additional delivery time of approximately 5 business days.
The engraving of your urn proceeds as follows:
- You provide us with the name, date(s) and/or a short description of exactly what you want via the online form of the “Personalize” option.
- You add this option to your order (by clicking on “Add to shopping cart”).
- We will then create a design based on your wishes, which we will send to you by e-mail within 2 working days.
- Afterward, it is always possible to further adjust the design. Only when everything is to your liking will the laser engraving be performed according to the design.
- Your personalized urn will be delivered to your home within 7 business days.
Font selection
All urns we offer are perfectly suitable for engraving due to their shape and quality. In general, our urns have a timeless and serene appearance. However, you can add extra atmosphere & personality to the object by choosing the font.
During the design process, we will suggest a number of fonts. However, you can also choose your own font. For this choice, we would like to refer you to Google Fonts. We can use all fonts from this library for the design of your engraving. There is always a suitable font to be found for the design you have in mind.
Tip: For small urns or an engraving on the lid, choose a clearly legible font.
A personal drawing or handwritten text
If you would like to have a drawing or handwritten text engraved, we have some useful tips for you.
Engraving is done on the basis of vectors. We achieve the best result for engraving a drawing if you can provide us with a vector file.
Preferably use:
- A line-vectorized (black and white) .eps file
- An .ai or .pdf file
If you do not have the above files, there is no reason to panic. Take a clear, sharp photo with your phone and add it to your order. Preferably in the original format.
